B’s Commissioning

Another one of the big life changes we’ve had lately is B’s acceptance to Vanderbilt’s doctor of nursing practice program AND that he’s been awarded a scholarship by the USAF to pay for it! We’re extremely excited and last week he was sworn in to the USAF as a 2nd Lt. (inactive reserve), until he graduates when he will go active duty. We were even able to have my best friend, who is also a nurse in the air force, swear him in with both of our families there. Unfortunately Sunny couldn’t join us on the flight line πŸ˜‰ , but she did get to play with our friend’s puppy Luna (a beautiful 9month old white german shepherd).

ImageHere we are after B has taken his oath. We were so lucky that my best friend’s husband (also an Lt.), works at the 33rd and was able to give us access to the flight line. It was beautiful.
